August 2007

Diesel and Charlie are continuing their busy schedule and we've had some exciting times. They continue to visit patients at the North Ridge Medical Center. We were interviewed recently by the Sun Sentinel and are expecting the story to be published sometime before September. The cats just love all of the attention. Diesel and Charlie were on our local FOX News August 23. Reporter LuAnne Sorrell interviewed and filmed us at the North Ridge Medical Center. If the clip is put up on their website, we will publish a link to it. Previously, CBS local reporter, Joan Murray, did a wonderful report on their work as animal therapists that aired on May 17. The article and video is available online at cbs4.com, A Purrrfect Therapy. Their resident cat project at the Miami VA Hospital is coming along too. Chloe has moved into the VA Hostpital in mid-August. The residents and staff are thrilled to have her there. People just love having her to visit all of the time. Diesel and Charlie met Chloe on their last visit. Once Chloe established that she was in charge, everyone got along just fine.

Diesel was shown in Boca Raton in May and did very well. He finalled in all six rings. His next show will be in Fort Lauderdale in October. Charlie has made a full recovery from her surgery in January. She nearly looks like a Maine Coon again as her coat has grown back in most of the way. She now enjoys playing with Diesel, even when he rough houses. Both cats continue to visit a variety of local businesses. The cats will continue with their regular hospital visits during the summer, though they will be taking a short vacation to visit relatives in New Jersey. On the road again...

We are often asked what we feed Diesel and Charlie. An important part of their diet includes Feline's Pride. These products are minimally processed and provide a convenient way to give our "kids" a natural feline diet. They have tried and love all of the different varieties!
